Food Waste Challenge ( Great Britain)
The goal was for the participating households to reduce the amount of food waste they produce by at least one third (33.3%), helping them to save money and reduce their negative impact upon the environment too. To highlight issues of food waste, and to promote the availability of free Love Food Hate Waste advice designed to help reduce food waste, Leicestershire County Council asked the residents of Leicestershire (excluding Leicester City) to come forward and take part in a challenge to cut down on food waste. From all of the entrants three households were chosen to step up and take the challenge. It was a competition run by Leicestershire County Council's Waste Initiatives team, in association with the Leicestershire Waste Partnership and Love Food Hate Waste (by WRAP).
