United Against Food Waste

Food for 6,000 people!

Last year's success by FUSIONS partner Stop Wasting Food movement Denmark (Stop Spild Af Mad), Denmark's largest event against food waste, United Against Food Waste, is back! Thursday October 9th 2014, Minister for the Environment, Mrs. Kirsten Brosbøl opened Denmark's largest event against food waste at Town Hall Square in Copenhagen.

Several thousands of people were fed with good free surplus food.There were speeches by Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Mr. Dan Jørgensen, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Mr. Frank Jensen and Secretary-General of WWF Denmark, Mrs. Gitte Seeberg. The event included Copenhagen Hospitality College, Coop, REMA 1000, etc.

In 2013, the event fed over 6,000 people. United Against Food Waste is a part of the Nordic event series, which in 2014 was held in Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. See more at: Unitedagainstfoodwastenordic

The Danish event was powered by Danish Ministry of the Environment, Danish Environmental Protection Agency and Stop Wasting Food movement Denmark (Stop Spild Af Mad) - in collaboration with the EU's largest alliance against food waste, FUSIONS.
